The Big Girl Room

I'm in the process of making Dylan her big girl room in hopes that she'll love it so much that she'll leave my bed once and for all. Dyl got all new bedding, curtains, and sconces from Pottery Barn Kids. We ordered some wall decorations from Uppercase Living (after months of changing colors and designs). A few coats of paint and a crib conversion later we are well on our way to being done. The only things I need to get in there are a new rug and some toddler seating. Dylan loves her new room, especially when her kitchen is in there. She will go and jump on the bed. She'll even lay in the bed, ask for a blanket and want me to rub her back. However, when she gets tired she'll ask to go to bed and go back to my room. Its a work in progress :)

Happy New Year!

Dylan ushered in the new year by meeting her new cousin Mya Ann. Mya is the child of my godbrother Brian and his beautiful wife Alexis. Dylan was thrilled to have a baby in the house for a few days, she has such a nurturing spirit. She needs to work on sharing with the baby but other than that we had a great visit!

Its Halloween

Dylan is gearing up for Halloween again. She is dressed as a bumble bee this year and thrilled about the wings! She runs around the house yelling that she's flying. All she's really doing is shedding marabou feathers all over the house! She went to the Legacy Academy Fall Festival on Saturday afternoon and won a goldfish. Unfortunately for Dyl, her fish seemed lethargic and "on the cusp of death" according to her GG. So at 3:00 am Sunday morning when GG went to the kitchen and the fish wasn't moving she dumped him in the toilet. He started swimming around at that point but she said she refused to fish him out of the toilet. So she said a prayer and flushed. Election Day!!

Dylan is wearing her Obama onesie under her outfit today. Although the whole family voted already, I took her to the poll this morning to visit her favorite poll manager (Gammy) and Pa Pa as well. She'll be asleep when the numbers come in but I'll let her know in the future that on this day, history was made!

Happy Halloween

This is my first attempt at blogging so bear with me, it might be a while before I'm good at this. This blog will be dedicated to what is going on with Dylan at any given time. I know that I'm not as good at keeping in touch with everyone so I figure this will be a fun way to keep everyone updated! Today is Dylan's first Halloween. She's dressed as a piglet :). Today was dine with your child day at Legacy Academy and I missed it so mom went to have lunch with Dylan and the rest of the infants at school. The fall festival was last week and I have pictures of some of the babies with Dylan in their costumes. Enjoy!
